Help Fight Climate Change

If everyone in the United States gave up meat and dairy products for just one or more days a week; or even every day of the week, thousands of tons of carbon emissions would be saved from being released into the environment.

We would also reduce our water use by at least half since animal agriculture utilizes more than 50% of fresh water use in America.

The environmental benefits of eating a plant-based diet effect eco-systems around the world including the quality of habitats for wildlife, oceans, flora and fauna.

Help Stop Animal Cruelty

Even organic and humane meat comes from the slaughter of animals who have thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Conditions that are barely viewable or describable that would not be tolerated or allowed for your familly pet are the conditions of millions.

Caring for animals means having compassion for all not just human beings.

The current state of animal agriculture is not needed, eating meat isn't required.

Your small day to day choice to eat plant-based brings more goodness, love and kindness to the whole world.

As Thich Nhat Hanh, the Vietnamese Zen monk, points out, "Compassion is a verb". It is how you choose to live.

Help Prevent Disease & Obesity

Lower Your Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

Diet and lifestyle, particularly plant-based diets, are effective tools for type 2 diabetes prevention and management. Plant-based diets are eating patterns that emphasize legumes, whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds and discourage most or all animal products.

Cohort studies strongly support the role of plant-based diets, and food and nutrient components of plant-based diets, in reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease

According to a study published by the American Medical Association, participants who followed a plant-based diet from vegan to pescatarian to semi-vegetarian, reported lower blood pressure readings than meat eaters.

High blood pressure indicates higher risk of heart disease.

Lose Weight and Feel Great

In 2006, after reviewing data from 87 published studies, authors Berkow and Barnard13 reported in Nutrition Reviews that a vegan or vegetarian diet is highly effective for weight loss.

They also found that vegetarian populations have lower rates of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.

In addition, their review suggests that weight loss in vegetarians is not dependent on exercise and occurs at a rate of approximately 1 pound per week.

The authors further stated that a vegan diet caused more calories to be burned after meals, in contrast to nonvegan diets...
